On Saturday, March 3rd, Creative Alliance’s Brazilian mid-winter dance party returns for its 12th hip-moving year with live samba, forró, dance lessons, DJs, a full-costumed Carnival performance, and more! With JP Silva, Samba Trovão, Rose Moraes, DJs Luiz Luoco & Miguel de Amor, plus costumed dancers, caipirinha drink specials, and so much more!
Samba Jig is bringing guest artist JP Silva to this year’s Viva Brasil event. JP is a singer, composer, and musician who specializes in samba, choro, MPB, and pop. He has performed internationally with some of the biggest names in Brazilian music, including Toninho Gerais, Barbeirinho, Marquinhos de Oswaldo Cruz, Délcio Carvalho, Maurício Carrilho, Elton Medeiros, Paulão 7 Cordas, Ademilde Fonseca, Velha Guarda Império Serrano, Velha Guarda Mangueira, Velha Guarda Portela, Mario Broder, Neguinho da Beija-Flor, B Negão, Wilson Moreira, Wilson das Neves, Dudu Nobre, Fernanda Abreu, Jorge Aragão, and Luiz Melodia. He was also invited to sing backing vocals with legendary Brazilian samba diva Elza Soares in Tulipa Negra at Teatro Rival Petrobras, and he has continued to work with her over the past few years. In 2015, he released his first album, “O Tempo e a Lição,” which he took on tour to São Paulo, Belo Horizonte, Porto Alegre, Rio Grande, Goiânia, and Mato Grosso.
