Latin Grammy Award winner Vanessa da Mata is a Brazilian singer/songwriter, with hits such as, “Ai Ai Ai,” “Boa Sorte/Good Luck,” “Não Me Deixe Só,” and “Amado.” She is a powerful performer who represents the energy and vibe of Brazilian popular music. This fall, Vanessa da Mata will promote her latest DVD special, “Caixinha de Música,” performed live in concert at the Casa Natura Musical in São Paulo and released in May. Accompanied on the DVD by guitarist Mauro Pacheco, she revisits old favorites and introduces new original compositions in a variety of genres, including MPB (Música Popular Brasileira), samba, pop, and R&B.
On Thursday, September 14, she will perform with her band in the Washington, DC metro area at the Montgomery College Cultural Arts Center in Silver Spring, MD at 8:00PM.
